Sources and credits
Records first, recollections credited. Every picture in the book carries its source in its caption.
How the book was researched
Original records come first: church registers, deeds, wills, tax lists, pension files, census pages and ships’ lists, read on the page image wherever possible. Family recollections are attributed in the notes to the person who remembered them. Where a link between generations is probable rather than proven, the book says so.
